Vornado SRTH Tower Heater Recall: Fire Hazard

Vornado Air Recalls SRTH Small Room Tower Heaters Due to Fire Hazard

Updated June 4, 2026

Vornado is recalling its SRTH Small Room Tower Heaters because the fan blade can detach from the motor shaft, causing the heater to overheat and melt, and potentially catch fire. If the built-in thermal cut-off or fuse doesn't activate in time, the melted internal parts can ignite and break through the heater's enclosure.

Is the SRTH Small Room Tower Heaters recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by CPSC on June 4, 2026. Details below.

What is recalled

Vornado SRTH Small Room Tower Heaters (model TYPE SRTH), sold in black and white. The heaters are approximately 12.5 inches tall by 6 inches in diameter, have two heat settings (low and high) plus a fan-only setting, and display the "Vornado" name with a "V" logo on the front. The model label "TYPE SRTH" appears on the silver rating sticker on the bottom of the unit.

Am I affected

You're affected if you own a Vornado tower heater that reads "TYPE SRTH" on the silver rating label on the bottom of the unit. Check for the "Vornado" name and "V" logo on the front to confirm the brand. Both the black and white color versions are included in this recall.

The hazard

The recalled heater's fan blade can detach from the motor shaft, which can cause the fan to slow or stop, leading to overheating and melting of the enclosure and internal parts. Melted internal parts can ignite and breach the enclosure if the thermal cut off or fuse does not timely activate, posing a fire hazard.
