Toyota Corolla Hybrid Brake Assist Recall 2024

2025 TOYOTA COROLLA HYBRID: SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRIC:SOFTWARE/PROGRAMMING

Updated September 20, 2024

Toyota is recalling certain 2023 to 2025 Corolla Hybrid and 2023 to 2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicles because a software error in the braking system can cause power brake assist to cut out while turning a corner. Without full brake assist, your stopping distance increases, raising the risk of a crash.

Is the Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by NHTSA on September 20, 2024. Details below.

What is recalled

Certain 2023, 2024, and 2025 Toyota Corolla Hybrid vehicles, and certain 2023 and 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicles. The affected component is the skid control electronic control unit (ECU). Toyota's recall number is 24TA11 (NHTSA ID: 24V708000).

Am I affected

You're affected if you own a 2023, 2024, or 2025 Toyota Corolla Hybrid, or a 2023 or 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid. Check your vehicle's model year and name against those two model lines.
