Shenzhen Shijingjie Male-to-Male Extension Cord Recall
Shenzhen Shijingjie Network Technology Male-to-Male Extension Cords Recalled Due to Risk of Serious Injury and Death from Electrocution and Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Hazards; Sold on Walmart
Updated April 9, 2026
Shenzhen Shijingjie Network Technology is recalling male-to-male extension cords (also called pigtail cables) sold on Walmart because their exposed prongs can become live with electricity the moment one end is plugged in, creating a serious risk of electrocution and death. Using these cords to back-feed a generator into a home's electrical system also creates fire and carbon monoxide poisoning hazards.
Is the Male-to-Male Extension Cords recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by CPSC on April 9, 2026. Details below.
What is recalled
Male-to-male extension cords (also called pigtail cables) sold by Shenzhen Shijingjie Network Technology on Walmart. Model numbers: RY-US-06 and RY_US-1.5. The cords are rated 125V 12AWG, described as heavy-duty, and are blue or yellow with three-prong black plugs on both ends. They measure between 23.6 inches and 59 inches long. The model number appears on the purchase order or receipt.
Am I affected
You're affected if you own a blue or yellow male-to-male extension cord (pigtail cable) with three-prong black plugs on both ends, purchased on Walmart, with model number RY-US-06 or RY_US-1.5 printed on your purchase order or receipt.
What to do right now

The hazard
The recalled male-to-male extension cords violate safety requirements because their exposed prongs can become energized when one end is plugged into a generator or other power source, posing a risk of serious injury and death from electrocution. In addition, using the cords to supply power from a generator to a residential electrical system (backfeeding) poses a risk of electrocution and fire. The cords' short length encourages the use of generators close to homes or enclosed spaces, posing a risk of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.
