Semfri Children's Helmet Recall 2026
Semfri Children's Helmets Recalled Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Head Injury; Violates Mandatory Standard for Bicycle Helmets
Updated February 5, 2026
Semfri children's multi-purpose helmets have been recalled because they fail to meet the mandatory federal safety standard for bicycle helmets. In a crash, these helmets may not protect your child's head, posing a serious risk of injury or death.
Is the Semfri Children's Helmets recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by CPSC on February 5, 2026. Details below.
What is recalled
Semfri-branded children's multi-purpose helmets in size medium (M), fitting a head circumference of approximately 20.5 to 22.8 inches. Available colors: orange, black, blue, navy blue, pink, red, and white. All recalled helmets have black padding, black straps, a black buckle, and a black plastic adjustment knob at the back. The size label is a black circular sticker printed inside the helmet.
Am I affected
You're affected if you own a Semfri children's helmet in size medium (M). Check inside the helmet for a black circular label showing the size "M." If the helmet also has black padding, black straps, a black buckle, and a black plastic knob at the back, it is part of this recall regardless of color.
What to do right now
Stop using this helmet immediately, do not let your child wear it. Destroy the helmet by cutting the straps, then email a photo of the destroyed helmet to [email protected] to receive a full refund. Contact Semfri directly at that same address with any questions.
Contact: Semfri by email at [email protected].
The hazard
The recalled helmets violate the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets because the helmets do not comply with the impact attenuation, positional stability, labeling and certification requirements. The helmets can fail to protect the user in the event of a crash, posing a serious risk of injury or death due to head injury.
