PandaEar Hook-On Chair Recall: Fall Hazard
PandaEar Recalls Portable Hook-On Chairs Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Fall Hazard; Violates Mandatory Standard for Portable Hook-On Chairs
Updated May 21, 2026
PandaEar is recalling two models of portable hook-on chairs because the crotch restraint can be removed without a tool, allowing an infant to fall through the opening, a potentially deadly hazard. These chairs do not meet the mandatory safety standard for portable hook-on chairs.
Is the Portable Hook-On Chairs recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by CPSC on May 21, 2026. Details below.
What is recalled
PandaEar portable hook-on chairs, two models: Model C2102 and Model BTC-51. The chairs have a black or gray metal frame covered in black, gray, or blue (dinosaur-theme) polyester and cotton fabric, with an attached restraint in the seating area and two metal arms with plastic covers that anchor to a dining table. "Panda Ear" appears on a label stitched to the side of the fabric seat. "Model C2102" appears on a label on the bottom of the fabric seat. Model BTC-51 has no model markings on the product itself.
Am I affected
You're affected if you own a PandaEar portable hook-on chair that is either: (1) labeled "Model C2102" on the underside of the fabric seat, or (2) a PandaEar hook-on chair with no model markings (Model BTC-51). Check the side of the fabric seat for a "Panda Ear" label to confirm it's this brand.
What to do right now
Stop using the chair immediately, do not put any child in it. Contact PandaEar at [email protected] to receive a full refund. You will be asked to disassemble the chair, cut the restraint straps and fabric seat to destroy it, and email photos clearly showing the destroyed product and model label to [email protected].
Contact: Email PandaEar at [email protected].
The hazard
The recalled portable hook-on chairs violate the mandatory standard for portable hook-on chairs because the crotch restraints can be removed without the use of a tool and infants can fall through an opening, posing a deadly fall hazard.
