Chrysler is recalling certain 2023 to 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE and 2024 to 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4XE plug-in hybrid vehicles because debris inside the engine can cause engine failure. This can lead to a sudden loss of drive power, a crash, or an engine compartment fire.

What is recalled
Certain 2023 to 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE and 2024 to 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4XE Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) vehicles. Chrysler's recall number is 78C. Affected VINs became searchable at NHTSA.gov beginning November 13, 2025.

Take your vehicle to a Jeep dealer for a free software update and, if needed, a free engine block or full engine replacement. Owner notification letters were mailed starting May 7, 2026, with additional letters to follow once the final remedy is ready.
