Hyundai Palisade 2020-2025 Curtain Airbag Recall

2025 HYUNDAI PALISADE: AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:CURTAIN

Updated January 23, 2026

Hyundai is recalling certain 2020 to 2025 Palisade SUVs because the side curtain air bags for third-row passengers may not deploy correctly in a crash. This increases the risk of injury and means the vehicles do not meet the federal ejection mitigation safety standard.

Is the Hyundai Motor America recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by NHTSA on January 23, 2026. Details below.

What is recalled

2020 to 2025 Hyundai Palisade SUVs. Hyundai's internal recall number is 292. You can look up your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) at NHTSA.gov to confirm whether your specific vehicle is included.

Am I affected

You're affected if you own a 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025 Hyundai Palisade. Check your VIN at NHTSA.gov (searchable from January 24, 2026) to confirm your vehicle is covered under recall number 292.

What to do right now

Take your Palisade to a Hyundai dealer, where they will install a protective film over the rear window and remove padding as needed, free of charge. An interim letter describing the safety risk was mailed to owners starting March 13, 2026. A second letter with details on the final fix will follow once the full remedy is ready, expected June 2026. To ask questions or schedule service now, call Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460.
