Honda CBR600RR Motorcycle Recall 2024-2026

2026 HONDA CBR600RR, 2025 HONDA CBR600RR: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:HARD PARTS INTERNAL/MECHANICAL

Updated December 18, 2025

Honda is recalling certain 2024 to 2026 CBR600RR motorcycles because the cylinder head may have been improperly manufactured, leading to rod bearing failure. This can cause the rear wheel to lock up suddenly or engine oil to leak onto hot exhaust parts, raising the risk of a crash or fire.

Is the Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) recalled? Yes. This product was recalled by NHTSA on December 18, 2025. Details below.

What is recalled

2024, 2025, and 2026 Honda CBR600RR motorcycles. Honda's recall numbers are KT5 and KU3. Affected Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) will be searchable at NHTSA.gov beginning January 7, 2026.

Am I affected

You're affected if you own a 2024, 2025, or 2026 Honda CBR600RR motorcycle. Check your VIN at NHTSA.gov (searchable from January 7, 2026) or call Honda at 1-866-784-1870 to confirm whether your specific bike is included.

What to do right now

Take your motorcycle to a Honda dealer for a free engine assembly replacement. The full remedy is anticipated to be available in July 2026. Honda mailed an interim safety notice to owners on February 9, 2026, and will mail a second letter when the remedy is ready. In the meantime, contact Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870 with questions or to confirm your VIN is affected.
