Fortemotus Direct adult portable bed rails (model USFTMTJAS008) have been recalled because users can become trapped between the rail and the mattress, creating a serious risk of death by asphyxiation. The rails also fail structural stability and retention strap requirements, posing a fall hazard, and have incorrectly sized push pins that can cause lacerations.

What is recalled

Fortemotus-branded adult portable bed rails, model USFTMTJAS008. The rails feature black tubing with black foam rubber handle grips, support legs, and a fabric pouch, and measure approximately 30 inches wide by 30 inches high. The Fortemotus logo is printed on the fabric cover and the model number appears in the owner's manual.
