Ford is recalling certain 2026 Explorer, Mustang, and Lincoln Corsair vehicles, plus certain 2025 Maverick trucks, because a defective cylinder head can cause an oil leak. That leaking oil can ignite on hot engine or exhaust parts, creating a fire risk, and can also cause the engine to seize and suddenly lose power, raising the risk of a crash.

What is recalled

Certain 2026 Ford Explorer, 2026 Ford Mustang, 2026 Lincoln Corsair, and 2025 Ford Maverick vehicles. The improperly manufactured cylinder head may have ball plugs that fail, leading to an oil leak. Ford's recall number is 25SD3. Affected VINs are searchable at NHTSA.gov (NHTSA recall ID: 25V828000).
