Ford is recalling certain 2025 F-650 and F-750 Super Duty trucks because the front axle tie rod ball studs may have been incorrectly heat-treated and could break. A broken tie rod can cause sudden loss of steering control, raising the risk of a crash.

What is recalled
Certain 2025 Ford F-Super Duty F-650 and F-750 vehicles. Ford's recall number is 24S42 (NHTSA ID: 24V494000). The defect is in the front axle tie rod assembly, specifically ball studs that received incorrect heat treatment during manufacturing.
