CCCEI-branded power strips have been recalled because they lack the internal overcurrent protection needed to prevent overloading. If overloaded, the strips can catch fire, putting you at serious risk of burns or death from smoke inhalation.

What is recalled

CCCEI-branded power strips sold by Middle Way Electronics. The strips have a black metal enclosure with six receptacles made of black plastic, individual on/off switches for each receptacle, and come with 6 ft, 10 ft, or 15 ft power cords. The back of each unit has a white label reading: "Relocatable Power Taps. Caution keep children away...Made in China."

Am I affected

You're affected if you own a CCCEI-branded power strip purchased from Middle Way Electronics with a black metal body, six individually switched receptacles, and a 6 ft, 10 ft, or 15 ft cord. Check the white label on the back of the strip, if it reads "Relocatable Power Taps" and identifies the brand as CCCEI, you have the recalled product.

The hazard
